Tailor Research is a new and vibrant company, and so we are seeking vibrant, dynamic employees. We pride ourselves on rethinking conventional wisdom if it benefits our customers in any way. Since we are a young company, the challenges are great but the rewards are amazing.
Tailor Research is an investment research firm, and as such we have two types of employees: Those who support the research function and those who support customers. Unlike many firms, however, both types require performing extremely analytical functions, and both types require developing relationships with customers. After all, the center of our tailored approach to research is to understand our customers’ needs and then filling those needs with analytical expertise. Truly, the line between the two functions is blurred. For these reasons and more, Tailor uses testing services (pre-employment) to determine where a new employee is best fitted.
Before an offer is made, each candidate is given a test to evaluate the candidate’s strengths. There is no right or wrong answer to the test; it is simply a way for Tailor to understand how we can build a great team that compliments each other. For instance, if a team is creatively strong, then we might want to hire someone to that team who is less creative but more skilled at other areas.
Your job experience is less important to us than how well you fit the needs of the firm, and a particular team. We value intelligence, communication skills, and drive far more than we value former job titles, industry experience, or a prior employer.
